About us

Our mission is to conserve and document Acropora species.

We created a web application that engages scientists, reef hobbyists, tourism and the general public at acrotag.com

Our website content comes from a wide variety of sources, from first hand observations diving on Australia's reefs, to partnering with Marine Biologists, the aquaculture industry and reef hobbyists.

The global reef aquarium hobby is a resource to better understand conditions for optimal acropora health such as chemistry, temperature, lighting, depth, nutrients and trace elements.

Since the knowledge of species is constantly evolving, we provide a system to identify and record details for each coral species, regardless of classification change.

We also provide fragments for sale through our store to encourage growing fragments of identified species to support efforts of reef conservation such as coral fragment planting, stabilising reefs and integrating the data we collect with other systems to benefit our understanding of each species natural habitat.

Our aim is to provide a user-friendly, central location for scientists and the general public to share knowledge so that together we better conserve and improve Acropora health and diversity.
